Panathinaikos vs. Maccabi Tel Aviv: Analysis and Prediction Panathinaikos will play Maccabi Tel Aviv in game four of the EuroLeague playoffs. The game will take place in Belgrade.
With just two losses since the middle of February—one to Barcelona and the other to Panathinaikos—Maccabi Tel Aviv is playing well. Ten wins and two losses have been tallied by the squad in their last 12 EuroLeague games.
As everyone knows, Maccabi Tel Aviv has only hosted one game in this season's EuroLeague, which they won over Partizan in the opening round. Ever since, they have hosted matches in Belgrade without the presence of spectators. The players were obviously more motivated by the supporters who traveled for the third and fourth matches in Belgrade, as they forced their rhythm on the visitors from the off and built a comfortable lead. Josh Nebo was the primary force behind the triumph with his outstanding effort. But with fewer than three minutes to go, they were behind by 10 points, and in the end, they just about managed to win.
The fact that Maccabi Tel Aviv won in spite of their dismal three-point shooting performance should give them hope. mostly as a result of superb collaboration, as shown by the 23 assists. Even though Lonzo Brown didn't have a very good scoring night, he was crucial in keeping the squad motivated. Compared to the regular season, Brown's shooting percentages increased dramatically in this series; he is now shooting 14% better from two-point range and nearly 20% better from three-point range.
Prior to this series, Panathinaikos was playing very well; they had won ten straight games across all competitions. They will, however, be under tremendous pressure to win the series in Athens because they are currently in danger of elimination.
It is undeniable that Panathinaikos has outperformed expectations this season; after a dismal beginning, things have turned around. The primary driver behind this team's change is Kendrick Nunn, who made a name for himself as the team's unquestionable leader and a major contributor to the offense. He showed this by playing a fantastic game in the third, particularly in the last quarter, when his goals rallied the squad and put them in contention, even if he missed the game-winning attempt. Despite having room for development, Mathias Lessort's performance was exceptional as he battled ferociously with the opposition centers. His free throw shooting percentage of 6/12 was also impressive.
With two seconds remaining, Jeremy Grant committed what may be deemed a needless foul, depriving Lorenzo Brown of the chance to win the game as the team's greatest defender and one of the league's finest stealers. Marius Grigonis averaged over 10 points per game throughout the regular season, so it's intriguing to see his drop in performance in this series. Ioannis Papapetrou, on the other side, has improved his scoring in this series, averaging more than 10 points per game.
We have no doubt that we are in for another classic—a game that will be remembered for a very long time. We think that because they are a better squad, the Athens visitors will prevail in this game. To put it plainly, this is suggested by the depth of their squad, the caliber of their players, and the possibility that Baldwin won't be entirely fit even if he plays. Furthermore, Maccabi Tel Aviv is just not good enough to win a series with a 3-1 record against Panathinaikos.
