Aberdeen is in search of their first win in the Europa Conference League this season as they host PAOK at Pittodrie Stadium on Thursday. PAOK currently leads Group G with two wins in their first two matches and is on a seven-game unbeaten streak across all competitions.

Aberdeen had a challenging start in the Europa Conference League, suffering a defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt but managing to secure a draw against HJK Helsinki, thanks to Bojan Miovski's equalizer. This draw has kept them in contention for progressing out of the group.

Aberdeen has maintained an undefeated streak in all competitions since their loss to Eintracht Frankfurt, with Barry Robson getting the best out of his team, both in and out of the Scottish Premiership. Surprisingly, they have been stronger away from home in the league, but they aim to make Pittodrie Stadium a fortress in European competition.

One concern for Aberdeen is the potential lack of match sharpness, as they haven't played as a team since before the recent international break, due to their postponed game against Dundee. PAOK will look to exploit this, especially since they secured a dominant 2-0 league victory in their last outing, extending their unbeaten run to seven games.

PAOK has won both of their Group G matches, although these games were intense, with a late 94th-minute goal by Brandon securing a 3-2 victory against HJK Helsinki on the opening day. They followed this with a 2-1 win against Eintracht Frankfurt, where Konstantinos Koulierakis scored a 92nd-minute winner, and both teams ended with 10 men. Currently, PAOK holds a three-point lead at the top of the group and aims to maintain or extend their lead as they enter the second half of the group stage.

Aberdeen is set to host PAOK, a Greek team, at Pittodrie with hopes of securing their first victory in the Europa Conference League group stage this Thursday. The Dons earned praise for their performance in Germany, where they narrowly lost 2-1 to Eintracht Frankfurt, a match in which they could have easily managed a draw.

However, they missed a significant opportunity in their subsequent game against HJK Helsinki, falling behind by a goal before eventually awakening to salvage a draw against relatively average opponents.

Barry Robson's team will have had an 18-day break before PAOK from Thessaloniki comes to Scotland, as their weekend game against Dundee was postponed following the international break.

In contrast, Razvan Lucescu's PAOK is in second place in the Greek Super League, following a weekend victory against Atromitos. What's concerning for the hosts is that PAOK has already defeated Eintracht at home and HJK away in this section. A win here would likely secure their qualification.

Aberdeen can take some solace from the fact that Hearts should have probably defeated them in the first leg of the play-off round at Tynecastle, but they ended up losing 2-1 before suffering a heavy defeat in the return leg in Greece.

Aberdeen has been unpredictable this season, often performing well when underestimated, as seen in their victory against Rangers and strong showing in Germany. Yet, they also have too many disappointing matches, including draws with St Johnstone and losses at home to Hibs and Hacken.

The most prudent prediction for this match is a draw at Pittodrie. PAOK is undoubtedly a strong team, as demonstrated against Hearts, but they have shown vulnerability, even in Edinburgh. With six points already in the bag, the Greeks wouldn't be devastated with a shared outcome.

While Aberdeen is certainly capable of winning, they are too inconsistent to reliably predict their performance, especially considering the changes in their team.

The hosts are aiming to put a positive spin on their performance during matchday three. Aberdeen currently occupies the bottom spot in Group G, having earned just one point from a 1-1 draw against HJK in their last match. Nevertheless, they are about to face the strongest team in the group and will need to perform at their peak to capitalize on their home advantage.

This marks Aberdeen's second appearance in the competition, having exited in the playoff round during their debut in the 2021-22 season. They were moved from the Europa League to participate in the current edition. In the Scottish Premiership, Aberdeen is currently in eighth place after playing eight rounds of matches. This will be the first-ever meeting between Aberdeen and PAOK.

On the other hand, the visitors lead the group with six points, having won their first two matches, including a victory against the favored Eintracht Frankfurt. PAOK is looking for a third consecutive win to maintain their top position in the standings. Second-placed Frankfurt has three points and could take the lead if they defeat HJK.

PAOK is participating in the competition for the third time and reached the quarterfinals in the 2021-22 edition. Furthermore, they have been in impressive form, remaining unbeaten in seven matches across various competitions and securing five victories. They currently hold the second position in the Super League Greece standings before matchday two.

In their recent five home games, Aberdeen has secured one win, two draws, and two losses. They have scored 11 goals while conceding five in their last five matches in competitions. In the Conference League, Aberdeen has played eight matches, winning three and losing five. In contrast, PAOK has played 26 games, winning 14 and losing six. Aberdeen has won three times and lost twice in their last five matches, while PAOK has won four times and drawn once during the same period.

Aberdeen has shown significant improvement both in their defense and offense, scoring more goals and conceding fewer. Macedonian striker Bojan Miovski remains their primary attacking threat, with one goal in the competition and four in the league. PAOK, on the other hand, is on a mission to win and maintain their top position in the standings, with Konstantinos Koulierakis having scored twice in the group stage and being a key player for their team.
