It’s going to be a battle of the titans when seventh placed Besiktas hosts eight placed Eyupspor in the Istanbul based Vodafone Park on Sunday provided both teams maintain their unbeaten run.

Entertaining draws in their recent games, the two teams are like to make an impact in their first ever top flight encounter.

Besiktas endured their first league defeat of the season after being held to a 1-1 draw when they travelled to take on Trabzonspor last time out – a match which they were unlucky not to win given that their hosts were reduced to 10 men as early as the 13th minute of the game.

But the Black Eagles will look at it as such: the team has been unbeaten in all competitions this season and out of seven games won five of them, including three in the league and a spanking 5-0 drubbing of the league champions Galatasaray in the Super Cup.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men have earned 10 points in the ongoing Super Lig season which placed them as third position, 5 points behind the super league champions Galatasaray who have played one match more than them.

The Black Eagles will hope to keep this brilliant run going when they come up against another side that has yet to know the tasting of the bitter fates of lose in the league – against side that the Blacks have pitched Forked in the past six consecutive duals in all the competitions.

In their recent games, the Turkish side has been quite impressive in front of their own fans, going unbeaten in their nine of the previous competitive fixtures at home, of which they won six and drew the remaining three.

The newly promoted Eyupspor have shown immense comfort in the newly promoted super lig drawing with Kayserispor after winning two games and drawing three after five matches.

Arda Turan's team took a two-goal lead in the first half with to goals from Mame Thiam and Samuel Saiz, but a terrible nine-minute run in the second half saw them drop two goals, resulting in a 2-2 tie.

The Istanbul-based team is presently fifth in the rankings with nine points, six points behind league leaders Galatasaray into matchday six.

Despite losing all prior encounters with Besiktas, Turan's team will be hopeful of a favorable outcome, considering their current six-match undefeated streak on the road dating back to the previous season in the TFF First League.

Besiktas will be without goalkeeper Ersin Destanoglu and midfielder Necip Uysal, who are out with shoulder and ligament problems, respectively.

Ciro Immobile, who has three league goals this season, will want to increase his total when he leads the line for the visitors on Sunday.

Eyupspor will be without two midfielders for this match: Recep Niyaz (knee) and Taskin Ilter (ankle).

Saiz, who has three goals for the visitors, the most of any player on the club, will look to keep his position in the starting lineup for this match.
