The Denver Broncos have had a rough start to the 2023 season, and they are at risk of dropping to a 1-7 record before their Bye Week if they can't secure a victory against the Green Bay Packers at home this Sunday. The upcoming game against the Kansas City Chiefs doesn't appear promising either, as they have a 16-game winning streak against Denver. DraftKings Sportsbook also has the Broncos as underdogs for this week's home game.

In our collective assessment, it seems likely that the Broncos will face another defeat at home. We predict that the Packers will come out on top with a combined score of 26-20, further plunging Denver into a disappointing 2023 season. However, not everyone is forecasting a loss this Sunday. Here's where each of us stands on our score predictions:

On the surface, this game may appear winnable on the schedule, but I have my doubts. The Packers are coming off a bye, and Denver's defense has made below-average quarterbacks look good this season. With the Packers regaining their health and having RB Aaron Jones back in the mix, it sets the stage for another challenging game for the Broncos. Expect a significant contribution from Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon, with rookie tight end Luke Musgrave making some impactful plays.

The Green Bay Packers are eager to break a two-game losing streak. They started the season 2-1 with wins over the Bears and Saints but suffered losses in their last two games. Their last outing was a lopsided 34-20 home defeat to the Lions, followed by a narrow 17-13 road loss to the Raiders, where they were two-point underdogs. They had an early bye week last week, and the Packers have covered the spread in three of their five games this season.

Jordan Love has struggled to find consistency. The 24-year-old quarterback recorded 259 passing yards against the Saints and 245 yards against the Lions, but he threw three interceptions against the Raiders. Love has accumulated 1083 passing yards with an 8:6 touchdown-to-interception ratio this season.

Aaron Jones has been limited to only two games due to injury, missing the game against the Raiders and being questionable with a hamstring injury. On a positive note, he was practicing with the team on Thursday. If Jones can't play, AJ Dillon will be relied upon, although he has had a subpar season with 194 rushing yards at an average of 3.0 yards per carry.

Romeo Doubs has been a standout performer, leading the team with 228 receiving yards, while Jayden Reed has contributed 210 yards. The Green Bay offense is in need of improvement, as they are averaging only 281 total yards and have scored 20 or fewer points in three consecutive games.

The defense of the Packers has had mixed results. In the loss to the Lions, the unit faltered and gave the Falcons 25 points. They performed well against the Raiders to bounce back, giving up just 279 total yards. The pass defense, which is ranked ninth, is strong, but the rush defense, which is ranked 28th, is being overused. 4.5 sacks belong to Rashan Gary.

With a season scoring average of 22.6 points, Green Bay is now 13th in the league. They are ranked 23rd due to their average 22.6 point defense.

The Denver Broncos have one last chance this week to maybe, just maybe, right the 2023 ship. At 1-5, it's exceedingly doubtful that this season will produce anything playoff-worthy, but if Sean Payton's team is going to have a chance, the Broncos must defeat the Green Bay Packers at home this week.

The possibility exists that the Broncos might start the year 0-4 at home, which has never happened. Let's walk around the table to see how the Mile High Huddle team believes the Broncos' seventh-week situation will develop.

The Denver Broncos are in search of their inaugural home victory this year in what has been a tumultuous season. Their woes began with a historic 70-20 defeat by the Dolphins in September, and their lone win came in a closely contested 31-28 match against a struggling Bears team. In week five, the Broncos suffered a 31-21 loss to the Jets and were underdogs by 10.5 points in a 19-8 road loss to the Chiefs in their most recent outing. Notably, the Broncos have yet to cover the spread this season.

Russell Wilson's performance has been lackluster. The seasoned quarterback exhibited productivity against the Bears and Jets, but he managed just 95 passing yards in his latest appearance, amassing a total of 1305 passing yards for the season with a touchdown-to-interception ratio of 12:4. He has also contributed 150 rushing yards.

The running game, on the other hand, has been moderately effective. Jaleel McLaughlin and Javonte Williams share rushing duties, with McLaughlin averaging 6 yards per rush and amassing 190 yards, while Williams has an average of 4 yards per rush with the same yardage. Notably, Courtland Sutton has yet to achieve 100 receiving yards in a game this season, leading the team with 275 receiving yards. The Denver offense has scored 21 points or fewer in three of their last four games.

The Achilles' heel of the Broncos has been their defense, conceding 28 or more points in four of their last five games. Although they showed promise by limiting the Chiefs to just 19 points, despite yielding 389 total yards, the defense remains a concern. Nick Bonitto has been a bright spot, tallying 5.5 sacks, but their pass defense ranks 30th, and their rush defense is dead last.

Denver is averaging only 21.5 points per game this season, ranking 17th in the league. Conversely, their defense is struggling, allowing an average of 33.3 points per game, making them the worst in that category.

Meanwhile, the Green Bay Packers are failing to convince anyone that they are playoff contenders. They have suffered losses in three of their last four games, with their only win being a narrow 18-17 victory over the Saints. Additionally, they have recently dropped two consecutive road games, including a loss to the Falcons, and managed to score just 17 points in their most recent outing.
