Everton, still prospering under David Moyes' cunning leadership, will try to extend their winning streak in the Premier League to eight games on Saturday night when they visit Molineux to play Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Most recently, Wolves' fierce FA Cup match against Bournemouth concluded with the same scoreline before Vitor Pereira's team was eliminated on penalties, while the Toffees rallied from a one-goal deficit to salvage a 1-1 draw away at Brentford.

Rewind to a few weeks ago, when Wolves won 1-0 in the Premier League at the Vitality Stadium thanks to the dismissal of Ilya Zabarnyi of Bournemouth. But Pereira's team was the one that received the red card and the outcome, with a spot in the FA Cup quarterfinals at stake.

Jake O'Brien got back to his goal-scoring ways on February 26 at the Gtech Community Stadium as Everton overcame a two-goal deficit after cruelly blowing a two-goal lead against Manchester United a few weekends prior.

Brentford came agonizingly close to securing their first home victory of 2025 when they hosted Everton last weekend. Yoane Wissa gave the Bees the lead just before halftime, but Jake O’Brien’s late header in front of the traveling fans denied them the long-awaited triumph at the Gtech Community Stadium.

The West London side has struggled on home turf, failing to win in seven consecutive matches since their last victory on December 7—losing five and drawing two. Interestingly, despite their home woes, they have been flawless on the road in 2025, winning all four of their Premier League away games.

However, Brentford’s impressive away form hasn’t been enough to keep them from slipping into the bottom half of the table, where they will remain regardless of Saturday’s result. Yet, with 30 goals scored at home this season, they still boast the highest tally in the division.

Their attacking efficiency has been remarkable, with a league-best 15.2% shot conversion rate. On the flip side, defensive frailties continue to haunt them, as Thomas Frank’s men are still searching for their first clean sheet at the Gtech Community Stadium this season.

During his time at Lyon, the towering Everton defender was always a threat in the opposition box, and he proved it once again by canceling out Yoane Wissa's opener. This goal extended Everton's impressive unbeaten run under David Moyes, who has now guided the team to seven consecutive Premier League matches without a defeat.

Everton's current form is reminiscent of the 2016-17 season under Ronald Koeman, when they last went eight games unbeaten in the English top flight. While their 16th-place standing might seem concerning at first glance, the Toffees have built a comfortable 15-point cushion above the relegation zone, providing some breathing room.

Aside from a heavy 4-0 loss to Manchester United, Everton have been solid defensively in their recent away matches. They have conceded one goal or fewer in 10 of their last 11 Premier League games on the road, including each of their last six. This defensive resilience has been a key factor in their improved form.

In December, Everton delivered a stunning 4-0 victory over Wolves at Goodison Park, showcasing their attacking prowess. Now, they have the chance to secure only their second Premier League double over Wolves, having first achieved this feat during the COVID-affected 2020-21 season. This upcoming match presents an opportunity for Everton to continue their strong run and further solidify their position in the league.
